Historic St Andrews
 St Andrews Castle

An essential part of any tour of St Andrews is a visit to the ruin of its once mighty castle. This site was fortified by the 1100s, and from around 1200 it was adopted as the main residence of the bishops and archbishops of St Andrews. As such, the Castle became the principal administrative centre of the Scottish Church and was the setting for some of the key events in Scottish history - website
St Andrews museum
St Andrews Museum is located in Kinburn Park, a short walk west of North Street. Kinburn Castle was built as a private residence in 1855 and named after a Crimean battle of the same year.
The Castle became the home of St Andrews Museum in 1991. It is owned and operated by Fife Council
 St Andrews Cathedral

Travel down to the East of the town, down North or South Street and you'll come across St Andrews Cathedral.
The ruins of the Cathedral, at one time Scotland's largest building, originated in the priory of Canons Regular founded by Bishop Robert (1122 - 1159).
The Cathedral was not completed and consecrated until 1318 in the reign of Robert the Bruce (1306-29)
A much more recent addition in the adjoining graveyard to St Andrews Cathedral is a monument to Tommy Morris, one of the early golfers from St Andrews from the 19th century who won the Open Championship at the age of 17.
